What is Hot Yoga?
We are excited to bring the first ever hot yoga studio to Bryan-College Station! The classes are conducted in a studio where temperatures range from 85 to 95 degrees. Why heat? Heat allows increased flexibility without risking injury. Each pose serves as a challenge to an individual body region; be it core, back, arms or legs while simultaneously increasing lung capacity and blood flow. Hot yoga builds strength, balance and flexibility by stretching the spine, muscles and joints. Athletes have reaped the benefits of hot yoga as it has been known to help heal and prevent further injuries. Thus, you may find your class comprised of runners, swimmers, football players, dancers, golfers, and so on. The hot yoga classes are accessible to all, beginners to advanced, and can be joined at any time.
Your hot yoga practice includes guidance on asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), meditation, and visualizations. Each asana is done in a specific order, preparing the body for the next pose resulting in faster more powerful results.
You will leave class knowing that you have worked every muscle, joint and organ while increasing oxygenated blood flow throughout your body. The poses practiced work to sculpt your body, relax your mind and soothe your soul thus putting you back on track with your fitness goals and spiritual well being.
If you are pregnant or have other health conditions that may be affected by the heat, such as hypertension, vascular disease, history of stroke, multiple sclerosis, or others, please consult your physician prior to registration.
